Choosing a Roof Color
Pick a Shingle Color You’ll Love for Decades
Your roof can make up a large share of what people see from the street, so the color you choose has a big impact on your home’s curb appeal and resale value. The colors below are some of the most popular architectural shingle options on Central PA homes, from the Owens Corning TruDefinition® Duration® and Duration® Designer collections.
We also install shingles from GAF, Atlas, CertainTeed, TAMKO, and IKO, each with its own color lineup. During your free consultation, we’ll help you narrow down options that complement your siding, trim, brick, and neighborhood.
Tips for Choosing a Color
- Match the undertones of your siding, trim, and brick
- Check HOA or neighborhood guidelines
- Look at samples outdoors in natural daylight
- View homes nearby with the same color
- Consider lighter colors to reflect more summer heat

Questions & Answers
Shingle Color FAQs
What roof color is best for my home?
The best roof color complements your siding, trim, brick or stone, and the overall style of your home. Grays and blacks work with most exteriors, while browns and warm blends pair well with tan, cream, and brick. We’ll help you compare options during a free consultation.
Do darker shingles make a house hotter?
Darker shingles absorb more heat than lighter colors, which can raise attic temperatures in summer. Proper attic ventilation makes a much bigger difference to comfort and shingle life, and we make sure every roof we install is ventilated correctly.
Can I see shingle samples before I choose a color?
Yes. Ask to see physical samples during your consultation, and look at them outdoors in natural light. Photos and screens can make colors look lighter or darker than they appear on a roof.
Do you offer colors from other shingle brands?
Yes. Along with Owens Corning, we install GAF and Atlas shingles, plus CertainTeed, TAMKO, and IKO, each with its own range of colors.
